Defining "Athletic"
FITPOD is a fitness community that believes in “living athletic.” But what does “athletic” mean? Simple! 3 easy words! EAT, TRAIN, and RECOVER!
EAT:
Nutrition has taken human existence into the next level of performance and longevity. People are now living healthier longer because of Nutrition. In our program, it is first. What do we recommend? Simple. Hire one of our Coaches and get ready for the next level. There are many ways for this to happen, but eating “clean” has been easier than ever. Whether you’re a vegan or meat eater, we will take you to the next level and this level is for everyone.
Train:
Training has long been under the premise of “no pain no gain”. Those days are over like a flip phone. Training has now been blended with science to understand how the body works. We intend to revolutionize training with our ATHLETIC STRENGTH. We believe that every human no matter the condition is an athlete. Train SMART, NOT HARD is one of our mottos and sometimes training smart is HARD, but we will teach you how to control the intensity dial so that you receive results with NO injuries, NO chiropractor, and NO massage. Those are there for people when they are overtraining. We don’t believe in overtraining. We believe in volume and variety. Volume needs to be high to induce results and variety needs to be intelligent to stop overuse pattern injuries. When one can train consistently, results happen.
Recover:
The latest buzzword in the industry. Recover means many things.
First there is program design. Most people don’t have a program, so they wonder why they are not getting results or why they are chronically injured. Having a programed designed is the first step to ensuring recovery is scheduled in. Most people feel mentally they just need to “work hard”. The proof that this mentality doesn’t work is seen at your local marathons. Most local marathon runners are 20-60lbs overweight, yet they just trained 2-4 hours per day for 3 months to complete this event. Additionally, many of those people are running injured to achieve a ‘“goal”. Makes no sense. Get on a program and follow it!
Second, when overtraining creeps in (it easily does), we have a FITPOD™ stretching program which is a dynamic way of stretching by incorporating mobility movements from track & field. By changing the way you warm-up and cool-down, you’ll receive better results in your performance. This stretching can be used during your program to ensure that you don’t over train. It can also be used to replace training, when you are feeling over trained.
Third, ice, foam rolling, manual massage, lacrosse ball, traditional stretching is all part of our program for daily maintenance. These are all amazing tools to increase circulation in your body and decrease recovery time.
In summary, training smart NOT hard, should protect from the ridiculous injuries in our industry.
